Solo & Co-op in Escape Academy 2: Back 2 School
The Escape Academy 2: Back 2 School Demo supports one player alone or two players together. Its own Steam description lists both online co-op and local splitscreen. The developer separately confirms a two-player limit, so a group of three, four or six should not expect everyone to join one session.

Choose the setup that matches your group
| Your situation | Documented choice |
|---|---|
| Playing by yourself | Single-player is explicitly supported by the Demo listing. |
| Two people sharing a setup | Local splitscreen/couch co-op is listed. |
| Two people playing remotely | Online co-op is listed; the same two-player limit applies. |
| More than two people | No larger session is established; plan separate sessions rather than diagnosing a third slot as broken. |
These are supported modes, not a verified button-by-button hosting or invitation procedure. No account-linking, port-forwarding or network-repair steps are invented here.
The PS5 full-game announcement is a separate source
In the October 13, 2026 PlayStation developer article, Coin Crew Games announces a November 5 PS5 release with couch or online co-op across the campus, story and puzzles. That is an announced full-game feature, separate from the PC Demo listing above.
For the checked release status and the exact Demo/main-game entries, use the release and platform chooser. This announcement does not establish a console Demo, PC-to-PS5 crossplay, a hosting procedure or a guest entitlement.
A friend pass is a different question
In a November 1 reply about launch, Freezman said there would not be a friend pass and pointed to couch co-op. Keep that dated announced-product statement separate from the free Demo and from whether a particular account can launch the full game.
The lack of a friend pass does not mean that the game has no co-op, and local co-op support does not by itself prove a remote guest entitlement. Check the actual product/session you are starting rather than importing the first game’s arrangements.
Do not infer crossplay or identical platform support
The read sources do not confirm PC-to-console crossplay or a console Demo. An older cross-platform question did not establish those features. The main-game and Demo store entries also show different platform/controller flags, so compare the exact AppID when planning hardware.
The developer confirms a character creator, and a player describes customizing a Demo character. Neither establishes a later appearance-reset procedure or how host and guest saves are shared. Use the dated save guidance for what the October update actually changed.
A supported party plan
You have chosen solo, two-player couch or two-player online play without relying on an extra player slot, a friend pass or unconfirmed crossplay. If two-player joining fails, record the actual mode, error, platforms and builds; that needs a specific connection diagnosis.
