October Demo Save Wipe Removed — Escape Academy 2: Back 2 School
The October 16, 2026 update to the Escape Academy 2: Back 2 School Demo removed save wiping at the end of the Demo. That is different from the older Demo’s behavior. The developer also expressed confidence about carrying saves into release, but included a caveat; this guide cannot promise that an individual save will transfer successfully to the full game.

Separate three different save questions

“The old Demo erased its ending save” and “the current update still does that” are different claims. Use the update date when comparing reports.
Check the save you actually have
- Confirm that your installed copy is the Demo with the October 16 update, rather than relying on a June recording’s ending behavior.
- Use the Demo’s normal save/load interface to inspect your existing progress. Keep track of the last room you completed and your displayed credits.
- If the save still loads, continue from that save. The old end-wipe reports are not a reason on their own to erase it and start over.
- If progress is missing, record when you last played and whether the old Demo had already reached its ending. The patch does not promise to reconstruct previously deleted progress.
The patch does not document an exact manual-save key, save-file path or backup procedure. Do not use an assumed location or an unrelated game’s save instructions.
Keep release compatibility separate
The planned full-game release shown on Steam when checked November 3 was November 5, 2026. The October patch says the team was confident enough to stop wiping Demo saves, while explicitly leaving some uncertainty about release compatibility.
That statement supports a hopeful expectation, not a successful migration test. Before replacing, deleting or overwriting a working Demo save, check the developer’s release instructions and what the released game actually offers. This page does not ask you to reset progress to force a transfer.
If the save loads but a credits door behaves unexpectedly, use the detention and credit-total checks. A door exception is not, by itself, evidence that your save was wiped.
The useful distinction
The October Demo no longer has the announced end-of-Demo wipe. Previously lost progress has no recovery procedure in that announcement, and full-game transfer remains a separate question. You can keep those cases apart when deciding whether to continue, compare versions or report a missing save.
