4 Credits and the 8-Credit Door in Escape Academy 2: Back 2 School

English Demo · October 19–20 developer discussion · Reviewed November 3, 2026

The short answer

An open eight-credit door in the Escape Academy 2: Back 2 School Demo does not always mean your credit total is wrong. The developer describes an exception for detention: if the trespassing system teleports a player inside before they have eight credits, its exit is opened so they are not trapped. Separately, the developer says finishing the Demo’s third and final room should leave you with nine credits.

First identify which situation you have

The original October report described being able to open an eight-credit door after reloading despite seeing only four credits. The developer did not confirm a universal credit bug; they asked the player to distinguish two different routes into the room.

  • You were sent to detention: an open exit can be the intended anti-trap exception.
  • You clicked the door from the stairwell: that is a different case, and the reply does not establish that every early opening is intended.
  • You have not completed the final Demo room: the developer’s nine-credit expectation does not yet describe your state.

This is a specific Demo explanation, not a table of every campus door’s unlock requirement.

Check progress before restarting

  1. Read your displayed credit total and the requirement on the actual door.
  2. Confirm whether you have finished the third/final room available in that Demo.
  3. Note how you reached the room: a trespassing teleport or a deliberate interaction from the stairwell.
  4. If you were teleported into detention below eight credits, try the provided exit; the developer says it is opened to prevent you being stuck.
  5. If you completed all three Demo rooms but still see four credits, preserve that state for a report rather than treating the detention exception as an explanation for the missing total.

The developer checked a completion-and-reload case on their side and reported nine credits. That is their check, not proof that every save is unaffected.

What to include if your state still differs

Record the Demo version or update date, your displayed credits, the door’s requirement, whether all three Demo rooms are complete and whether detention teleported you. A screenshot of the total and door gives the developer more to compare than “the door is bugged.”

In the original reply, the developer invited the reporter to open a support ticket through the discussion’s official Discord link and share the affected save. Use that source for the current support route; a private save should go to the developer’s support channel.

Opening another unrelated door, replaying a level, deleting a save or starting again has not been established as a general fix by this source.

What you should know after checking

You can distinguish the detention exit exception from an unexplained credit mismatch. If you are still below the expected nine credits after finishing the three Demo rooms, you have a specific state to report; this guide does not promise an unsupported repair.
